JoJo’s Italian restaurant opens September 21 in West Fargo
The “refined and relaxed” Italian restaurant opens on Tuesday, September 21 at 915, 19th Ave. E., in what was once the Tru Blu Social Club, announced owner group Eclectic Culinary Concepts on Thursday, September 16.
Chef and co-owner Tyge Nelson promises classic home-cooked meals.
“We wanted to recreate dishes with the nuance and vibrancy that made them so craving in the first place. We focus on technique and quality ingredients to enhance flavor – and the overall dining experience of our customers, ”Nelson said in a press release.

The expected stars of the menu are the Sicilian pizzas, as well as the ribs and chicken thighs, both cooked and smoked.
The menu also includes polenta planks: Family-friendly dishes to share include a creamy, Parmesan-rich polenta topped with toppings like sausage and peppers, prime rib, pork, meatballs, and roasted mushrooms.
In addition, there is a JoJo’s To Go Go market, offering take out and take out food. The market has its own entrance and a dedicated parking lot to facilitate picking up special-order pizza or pasta, and take-out items.
Like other businesses in the Fargo-Moorhead area, the opening was delayed a bit, due to delays in shipping items such as furniture and hiring difficulties during the ongoing pandemic.
The restaurant will initially be open Tuesday through Saturday, although the owners expect JoJo’s to expand to seven days a week before the holiday season arrives.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Happy hour will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
JoJo’s can seat around 100 people in the dining room and around 100 in the bar.

The interior has been redesigned by Tracy Anderson of Canvas & Trowel design studios, though the restaurant retains the huge horseshoe bar from the old Tru Blu.
The owners plan to renovate the lower level of the restaurant for private events, with completion expected sometime in 2022.
Tru Blu opened in August 2017, but had been closed since mid-March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tru Blu and Fargo’s Lucky’s 13 Pub were part of a restaurant group acquired by Twin Cities-based Eclectic Culinary Concepts. The purchase was announced at the end of January of this year. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition included the 13 Lucky’s pubs in Bloomington, Burnsville, Mendota, Plymouth and Roseville, Minn., Bismarck, ND, and the Fargo restaurant at 4301 17th Ave. S .; a former Rudy’s Redeye Grill in Rosemount, Minn .; Yankee Tavern in Eagan, Minn .; Tru Blu; and Me & Julio in Hastings, Minn.
